From Tony:

"My workshops are for those willing to go through the door marked 'leaving your comfort zone' and enter a world of exciting and expressive application! We will experiment ways in how to introduce color and light into our work.

I will share some of my working methods in this workshop, concentrating on painting land and seascapes that have a bit of punch! Using direct strokes on a textured surface to emphasize 'brushwork' we will learn how to simplify our approach to achieve exciting impressionistic paintings.

Each day will start with a demonstration with heaps of challenges and loads of individual help at the easel. This workshop will include discussions on pastel painting materials, surfaces, developing your painting style and working methods unique to pastels. Daily demo's will emphasize composition, color and technique. Daily individual critiques of students' work in progress will take place."

Award winning painter and instructor Tony Allain has been painting for more than 40 years - a self-taught painter of color, light and movement, with a complete understanding of his surroundings.
